GERRY KAY AND I WERE GOOD FRIENDS... I HADN'T HEARD FROM HER IN A LONG TIME.. LAST TIME WAS WHEN SHE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL...ONCE I CALLED AND SHE WAS NO LONGER THERE.. I WAS AFRAID TO HEAR... BUT FINALLY A GOOD FRIEND ASKED IF I WANTED HER TO FIND OUT AND SHE FOUND THIS MEMORIAL..... I AM SO SAD TO THAT SHE IS NO LONGER HERE AND MISS HER, BUT IF ANYONE WILL GO TO HEAVEN, SHE WILL.. I AM SURE SHE WILL BE MISSED BY MANY PEOPLE.
I AM MAKING A PICTURE MEMORIAL TO HER IN WEBSHOTS I HOPE YOU DON'T MIND ME USING SOME OF YOUR PICTURES...YOU CAN USE ANY OF MINE ALSO, IF YOU DON'T HAVE THEM.... WHEN I FINISH I WILL SEND A LINK...
AND I THANK YOU FOR THIS WONDERFUL MEMORIAL OF OUR GOOD FRIEND, GERRY KAY. I KNOW SHE WOULD LIKE IT... WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU, GK... ~MARY~

I'm so sorry to learn of Gerry-Kay's passing, but I'm glad to have found your blog. Gerry-Kay was especially helpful to me in my early years of recovery. We'd talk and laugh into the night, sit in Dupont Circle and people-watch, and generally hang out. She taught me that there is fun to be had in recovery. I left the Washington, DC area in late-2001, and while Gerry-Kay and I stayed in touch via email for a while, we lost touch after a few years. Gerry-Kay was the cat's meow and I've never forgotten her. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
